Is University of San Francisco worth the extra cost compared with James Madison University?

However, location is only valuable if you will actively use it; internships in San Francisco can also bring transportation and living-cost pressures.

The private-school benefits at USF can matter for students who thrive with close mentoring. But JMU students can also build strong faculty relationships by using office hours, pursuing research, and joining smaller program-based communities. Unless USF offers a substantially better program, a distinctive internship pipeline for your intended field, or enough aid to narrow the gap, the financial advantage points strongly toward JMU.
