Indiana University or Bucknell for accounting: which is better for career opportunities?

Indiana University is the stronger option for accounting career opportunities. The Kelley School of Business has a much larger accounting recruiting ecosystem, deeper ties to major public accounting firms and corporate employers, and a national alumni network that is especially useful for internships and full-time placement. For a student prioritizing breadth of recruiting access, IU has a clearer edge.

Another difference is the academic and professional infrastructure around accounting. Kelley offers a very established business environment with specialized advising, student organizations, recruiting events, and a large peer group all aiming for similar careers. In accounting, being surrounded by a bigger cohort pursuing CPA-track roles can make networking, interview prep, and early internship positioning more straightforward.

Bucknell can still be a very good choice, especially if you want a smaller-campus experience, smaller classes, and more direct faculty access. But for accounting specifically, Bucknell does not usually match IU’s scale of employer access or the same depth of on-campus recruiting in business.
