University Park is a true college-town environment in State College, the campus is centralized, and school spirit is unusually visible through football weekends, THON, and a strong sense that a lot of student life revolves around the university itself.

One big difference is the setting. Penn State University Park feels self-contained, with students living, socializing, and attending events in one main area. Rutgers, especially New Brunswick, is more spread out across multiple campuses connected by buses, and its location in central New Jersey makes it feel more tied to the surrounding region than to one unified campus core.
