Which is better for marketing, the University of Arizona or Ohio State University?
I’m trying to decide between these two schools and want to study marketing. Both seem like good options, but I’m not sure which one has the stronger overall marketing program and better opportunities for internships or recruiting.
I’m mainly looking at this from the perspective of an undergrad who wants a solid business education and a path into marketing after college.

Ohio State University has the edge for undergraduate marketing. Fisher College of Business is especially well known among large public business schools, and Ohio State’s size, alumni base, and recruiter presence tend to create a wider path into internships and entry-level marketing roles.
One concrete difference is recruiting scale. Ohio State draws a very large mix of employers to campus, especially in business, retail, consumer products, analytics, and corporate marketing. For an undergrad, that matters because marketing hiring often happens through broad business recruiting pipelines, not just through a stand-alone “marketing program.”
Another differentiator is the business school environment itself. Fisher has a strong reputation, a deep set of student organizations, and plenty of access to project-based experiences that connect business coursework to real companies. That can be especially useful in marketing, where employers care about communication, market research, digital skills, teamwork, and evidence that you’ve worked on campaigns or client-facing projects.
Location and network also help Ohio State. Columbus is a major city with a strong business presence, and being in a large state flagship with a huge alumni network can make it easier to find internships during the school year as well as full-time leads after graduation. Arizona can still be a very good option, especially if cost is better or if you prefer Tucson, but from a pure undergraduate marketing and recruiting standpoint, Ohio State is the stronger pick.
Arizona’s Eller College of Management is respected and absolutely capable of getting students into marketing, so this is not a bad choice versus a good one. It’s more that Ohio State usually offers a broader recruiting platform and a slightly more powerful business-school brand for this specific field.
