Is the University of Michigan or the University of Rochester better for undergraduate science research opportunities?
I’m trying to figure out which school would give me better chances to get involved in science research as an undergrad. I know both have strong reputations, but I’m more interested in things like lab access, chances to work with professors, and how easy it is to get research experience early on.
I’m mainly looking at them from the perspective of a student who wants to do research in college, not just the overall prestige of the school.

For pure undergraduate research access, I would give Rochester a slight advantage, while Michigan wins on scale and breadth.
