Is Purdue or Cambridge better for engineering overall?

I’m trying to compare Purdue and Cambridge for engineering as a high school student planning ahead. Both seem strong, but I’m not sure which one is generally considered better for engineering overall.

The biggest practical tradeoff is breadth versus intensity: Purdue gives you a large, very established U.S. engineering ecosystem with many specialties, labs, and employer connections, while Cambridge offers a smaller, more theory-heavy and academically intense experience with exceptional global prestige. Cambridge offers excellent research and strong pathways into high-level technical work, graduate study, and international careers, but its system feels more specialized and less like the broad campus model many U.S. students expect.

If the question is engineering overall in a global prestige and academic sense, Cambridge has the edge. If the question is where an undergraduate can access a huge range of engineering resources, practical opportunities, and U.S. industry connections, Purdue is extremely compelling and in some cases the more useful choice.
