It is typically seen as the more prominent academic brand across industries, and its location in New York gives it unusually direct access to major employers, internships, and alumni networks. University of Miami is well known and respected, but its reputation is more regional and less uniformly powerful across fields.

One big difference is how each school is perceived outside its home region.
