At SDSU, a lot of student life is organized around campus traditions, game days, clubs, and a strong party reputation, so it can be easier to plug into something quickly. The University of Hawaii at Manoa has social opportunities too, but the vibe is often more laid-back and less built around one central campus social scene.

The setting also changes what "fun" looks like. UH has an incredible natural environment, with easy access to beaches, hiking, surfing, and outdoor activities that are hard to beat. That can make everyday life feel amazing, but it is not always the same as having a dense, highly active college-town or major-party atmosphere right around campus.
