Which is generally considered more fun: Chapman University or Tulane University?

Tulane is more often the school people describe as “more fun,” mainly because of its social culture, the New Orleans setting, and a weekend scene that extends far beyond campus. Students there tend to talk about school spirit, festivals, neighborhood restaurants and music, and a campus culture where going out and doing things together is very normal. Chapman can absolutely be social, but its vibe is usually seen as more polished, smaller-scale, and less defined by a citywide party atmosphere.

Tulane fits students who want an energetic, outward-facing college experience. A lot of the social life is tied to New Orleans itself, so the appeal is not just campus events but also the fact that the surrounding city is lively, walkable in key areas, and full of traditions.

Chapman tends to appeal more to students who want a social environment without quite as much intensity. Its Orange County location gives access to beaches, LA-area entertainment, and good weather, but the campus culture is often described as more contained and less collectively spirited than Tulane’s. Some students like that balance because it feels active without being overwhelming or heavily party-centered.

So in the broad, student-to-student sense of “fun,” Tulane usually has the stronger reputation. Chapman is still lively for the right person, especially someone who likes a smaller private-school environment with nearby off-campus options, but Tulane is the one more consistently associated with an especially vibrant social scene.
