That matters a lot in business, where experience and connections often shape outcomes as much as classroom reputation.

UH’s Bauer College of Business is especially tied into Houston industries like energy, real estate, healthcare, supply chain, and entrepreneurship. If you want to build a resume while still in college, being in Houston makes that easier in a practical way. Students can often reach employers without needing to wait for summer or relocate, and that kind of access can make the undergraduate experience feel more career-focused.

LSU’s E. J. Ourso College of Business is still well respected, especially across Louisiana and parts of the Southeast, but its business pull is more regional. LSU has a strong alumni base and a recognizable flagship-school brand, which can help, particularly if you expect to work in Louisiana after graduation. The difference is that LSU is less plugged into a major corporate market on a day-to-day basis than UH is.
