At Northeastern, co-op is not just another career center option. It is a central part of how many students use the school, with dedicated advising, and academic scheduling that makes extended work placements much easier to pursue. That matters because meaningful resume-building experience usually comes from substantial roles over several months, not just short internships squeezed around classes.

Fordham can still provide strong pre-professional access, especially because of its New York City location. Students can find internships during the semester and over the summer in finance, media, nonprofits, business, and other fields, and that can absolutely help build a resume. But that is different from having a deeply institutionalized co-op system where employers expect to hire students for that model and where the university is set up around it.

The practical difference is that Northeastern makes work experience more systematic and predictable. If your top priority is graduating with multiple serious work experiences already on your resume, Northeastern gives you a stronger structure for that goal. Fordham offers access and location advantages, but for co-ops specifically, Northeastern has the more powerful platform.
