Arizona vs Vanderbilt for campus life: which has the better overall student experience?

For campus life alone, Vanderbilt usually feels more cohesive and residential, while Arizona tends to feel bigger, looser, and more self-directed. At Vanderbilt, the residential college system helps create community, and SEC sports and traditions give the school a strong shared social energy. Arizona is also very social, but the experience is often shaped more by the size of the student body, the Tucson setting, and how much initiative you take.

Vanderbilt fits students who want a campus where people actually stick around and where the social scene feels built into daily life. Students often talk about busy weekends, a lot of campus events, and a strong sense that the university itself is the center of student life.
