It is especially appealing if you like the idea of being surrounded by many research labs and pre-health students, and if you are comfortable in a more demanding, high-achieving atmosphere. That can be great preparation for medical school, but it also means you need to be realistic about competition for top grades, lab positions, and certain high-demand experiences.

Arizona often makes more sense for the student who wants room to stand out. The university has strong health-related pathways, major research activity, and direct connections to medicine.
