How do Wesleyan and Brandeis compare in admissions difficulty overall?

Wesleyan is typically considered a bit harder to get into than Brandeis overall. In most college advising contexts, Wesleyan is viewed as the more selective of the two, with a slightly stronger reputation for admissions difficulty in a broad, year-to-year sense. Both schools are selective liberal arts-oriented universities, but Wesleyan usually sits a notch higher on students’ reach-target spectrum.

One reason is applicant demand and institutional positioning. Wesleyan tends to attract a very high volume of applicants who are specifically seeking a small, highly residential, nationally known liberal arts college environment, even though it is technically a university.
