When is Harvard's spring break?
I’m applying to Harvard next year and want to plan a visit in the spring. I’m trying to figure out when their spring break usually is so I don’t end up coming when campus is empty.
Does anyone know what week Harvard typically has its spring break? Is it the same every year or does the date change? If someone has already made plans to visit, how did you work around the break to make sure you got the full experience?

Harvard’s spring break usually falls in the middle of March each year, but the exact dates change slightly from year to year. For example, in 2024, Harvard’s spring break was from March 9 to March 17. The university typically posts its academic calendar a year or two in advance, so it’s a good idea to check their official Registrar webpage before finalizing your travel plans.
Spring break dates at Harvard (and most universities) can shift by about a week, depending on how the calendar aligns. Usually, it’s the second or third week of March. If you’re aiming for a campus visit when students are around and classes are in session, you’ll want to avoid that window and it can be helpful to double-check the dates about six months before your visit just in case they change.
