Maryland has the edge if campus location is a major factor, because College Park gives you direct access to Washington, DC while still feeling like a college-centered area. The Metro is a real advantage for daily life, internships, and weekend plans, and you can get into DC without needing a car. The area right around campus has restaurants, student apartments, and retail, so it feels active and convenient rather than isolated.

That said, College Park itself is more suburban than urban in atmosphere. You are not living in the middle of downtown DC, and parts of the immediate area can feel built around roads, apartments, and university traffic rather than a compact city center.
