For pre-med specifically, Rochester has a clear structural advantage because the University of Rochester Medical Center and Strong Memorial Hospital are directly tied to the university, which usually makes research, shadowing, and clinical exposure more built into campus life. UNH can still get students to medical school, but the path often takes more self-direction and more off-campus coordination.

For research and clinical access, Rochester is the stronger setup. Being connected to a major research university and medical center matters because pre-med students benefit when labs, physicians, and hospital programs are already part of the same ecosystem. At UNH, the experience may feel more balanced and accessible, especially if you value a slightly less intense atmosphere.
