You can walk out of class and already be in the middle of downtown activity, with MARTA stations nearby and major venues, internships, and events close at hand.

At UNC Charlotte, the setting is more of a traditional campus in a city rather than a campus embedded in the city core. The university is in northeast Charlotte, and while the light rail makes Uptown Charlotte accessible, downtown is still a trip you intentionally take rather than something that naturally surrounds you all day. On campus, it tends to feel more self-contained, greener, and more spread out.

Another big difference is how the city shows up in student routines. At Georgia State, commuting through downtown, grabbing food in nearby blocks, and sharing space with the broader public are part of the normal rhythm. At UNC Charlotte, students often spend more of their daily time within the campus environment, then head into the city when they want a change of scene.
