The biggest practical difference is that UGA feels much more like a traditional, self-contained college town experience, while Rutgers feels more spread out and tied to the broader New Jersey and New York corridor. At UGA, Athens is heavily centered on the university, so student life, nightlife, and campus traditions are woven into daily life in a very visible way. At Rutgers, especially New Brunswick, there is plenty happening, but the experience is more decentralized because the university is divided across multiple campuses and many students balance campus life with off-campus routines or trips home.
