Georgetown offers a much more integrated city experience, while Purdue feels more like a self-contained college community. At Georgetown, you are in Washington, DC with neighborhood restaurants, museums, internships, and city events all around you, even though the campus itself sits in a quieter residential part of Georgetown. Purdue, by contrast, is centered in West Lafayette, where student life revolves more heavily around campus, nearby college-town spots, and activities tied to the university.

For food and daily errands, Georgetown has far more variety within a short walk, especially if you like trying independent cafes, international food, and off-campus places that do not cater only to students. One thing to know, though, is that Georgetown’s campus is not directly on a Metro stop, so getting around DC often means walking, taking a bus, or using rideshare before connecting to the train. Purdue is easier and more straightforward for everyday routines right around campus, but the range of off-campus options is smaller and more student-oriented.

In terms of walkability, both can be walkable in different ways. Purdue is very easy to navigate as a campus, and many students can do most of daily life on foot or by campus bus without thinking much about the broader town.
