Is it possible to walk around Harvard's campus if you're not a student?
I'm planning a trip to Boston soon and I really want to check out Harvard's campus because I've seen so many photos and videos of it online. I'm not a student there (yet, hopefully!), but I've heard people say the campus is really beautiful.
Is it open to the public to just walk around, or are there restricted areas? If I go with my family, will we be able to see the main buildings and maybe the Yard? I would love to hear about anyone's experience visiting while just being an interested high schooler. Also, is there anything you absolutely shouldn’t miss if you get the chance to walk around? Totally appreciate any advice!

You can definitely walk around most of Harvard's campus even if you're not a student! Harvard Yard—which is the historic center of campus and home to iconic buildings like University Hall and the John Harvard Statue—is open to the public during daylight hours. You, your family, and other visitors are welcome to stroll through the Yard, take pictures, and soak up the atmosphere. There may be some specific buildings (like dormitories, certain libraries, and academic departments) that require Harvard ID for entry, but the central outdoor areas are freely accessible.
A lot of high school students visit when considering Harvard. You could join a campus tour, which are often led by Harvard students and provide fun facts, insights, and a peek at student life. Check Harvard’s admissions website ahead of time for information about official tours or any temporary restrictions (especially if there are public health guidelines in place).
