NC State usually feels more traditionally social and campus-centered day to day, while UT Dallas tends to feel more academically focused and less tied to a classic college-town atmosphere. NC State is in Raleigh with strong school spirit, major ACC sports, and a busier student-life presence across campus. UT Dallas, in suburban Richardson near Dallas, has plenty of clubs and active students, but the social scene is more self-directed and often described as quieter.
