It sits in North Philadelphia, and day to day campus life is woven into a major city with city blocks, rowhouses, public transit, off-campus businesses, and all the noise and movement that come with that. UIUC is in Champaign-Urbana, which is a lively college community, but it feels far more like a classic Big Ten campus in a smaller metro area than a campus embedded in a large city.
