Is Clemson or Temple better for city access?

Temple is the clear winner for city access. Its campus sits in North Philadelphia, and students can use SEPTA regional rail, subway, and buses right around campus to reach Center City, internship sites, museums, restaurants, and major employers without needing a car. Clemson, by contrast, is in a small college town in upstate South Carolina, with a much more rural setting and far less immediate urban access.

For internships and part-time opportunities during the semester, Temple has a real advantage because Philadelphia is part of daily student life rather than a separate trip. Students can get to offices, hospitals, nonprofits, media organizations, and courts during the week using public transit, which makes it much easier to fit work experience into a normal class schedule.

For weekend plans and everyday variety, Temple also offers much more. You are already in a major city, so concerts, pro sports, neighborhoods, food spots, and cultural events are constantly available. That changes campus life in a practical way, since students do not have to plan around long drives just to get urban experiences.

Clemson does have access to nearby small cities and outdoor destinations, and some students really like the traditional college-town environment. But if your question is specifically about easy, regular access to a real city, Temple is on a completely different level. Clemson can offer occasional city trips, while Temple gives you an urban campus with the city built into your day-to-day life.
