Where do I submit my application for UC Berkeley?

I'm a senior trying to figure out this whole college application process. I know I want to apply to UC Berkeley, but I'm not totally sure where I'm supposed to submit my application. Is there a specific website or portal for UC schools?

Also, is the application for Berkeley separate from other UCs, or is it a shared application for all of them? I've heard people mention the UC Application but I keep getting confused by all these different logins and websites. If anyone can give me a quick rundown I would seriously appreciate it!

Just want to make sure I don't accidentally miss the right spot to apply.

You’ll apply to UC Berkeley through the University of California (UC) Application, which is the same application used for all nine UC undergraduate campuses. The website is https://apply.universityofcalifornia.edu.

When you create your account on the UC Application, you’ll be able to select all the campuses you wish to apply to in one submission. This means if you want to apply to UC Berkeley, UCLA, UC San Diego, and others, you only need to fill out the application once and then select the campuses—which can save a lot of time.

The essays (“Personal Insight Questions”), academic information, and activity sections you fill out will be sent to all the UCs you pick, but you’ll have to pay an application fee for each campus.

For example, let’s say you decide to apply to UC Berkeley and UC Irvine. You would complete the UC Application, select both campuses, and submit the same set of materials for each. Payment and campus-specific scholarship questions are handled toward the end of the process.

Be careful not to use websites for the Common App or Coalition Application—UCs do NOT use those platforms for undergraduates. Everything goes through the UC Application portal.

You’ll also want to keep track of deadlines (typically November 30 for fall admission) and make sure you hit “submit” for each campus you’re applying to, then download or save proof of submission just in case.

If you get stuck on a specific step in the application, the UC Application website has a help section with FAQs, or your high school’s college counselor can often walk you through it. Good luck with your application to Berkeley!
