If you like the idea of balancing classes with nearby hospitals, physician shadowing, public health organizations, and research opportunities in or around the Bronx and Manhattan, Fordham gives you more day-to-day proximity to those settings. That access can make it easier to stay engaged in healthcare outside the classroom without waiting for summer.

Syracuse can still work well for pre-med, especially for a student who wants a more traditional campus experience and is comfortable being more proactive about finding opportunities. It has solid science offerings and can provide the core coursework you need for medical school, but it is not as naturally plugged into a major medical hub in the same way Fordham is. For some students, that means more planning is required to line up clinical experiences, transportation, and off-campus involvement.
