Which is better for landing jobs in New York: Bucknell or Fordham?

I’m trying to choose between Bucknell and Fordham, and one of my biggest concerns is job prospects in New York after graduation. I know both schools have strong alumni networks, but I’m not sure which one gives students a better path into New York internships and full-time jobs.

I’m mostly interested in how employers in New York tend to view graduates from each school.

Fordham has the clearer edge for landing jobs in New York. Its New York City location, especially the Lincoln Center campus and strong ties through the Gabelli School of Business, gives students much easier access to in-semester internships, employer events, and alumni working across finance, media, nonprofits, and corporate roles in the city.

Location matters a lot here. At Fordham, students can build New York experience before senior year by commuting to internships during the semester, attending networking events after class, and meeting alumni without needing to wait for school breaks. That kind of steady exposure often turns into stronger resumes and more local references by graduation.

Bucknell still does very well for certain paths, especially if you are aiming at firms where alumni presence is strong or you are open to starting outside the city and moving in later. Its alumni network can absolutely help in New York, and some employers view Bucknell graduates very positively. But for direct access to New York internships and the easiest path into a first job there, Fordham is the more practical advantage.
