For pure college town life, Wisconsin has the edge because Madison is one of the clearest examples of a campus that blends directly into a lively, student-friendly town. Oregon is still a strong option, but if your priority is that everyday feeling of walking out of class into an active, built-in town scene, Wisconsin is the more compelling pick.
