Santa Clara has the edge overall for undergraduate business, especially if internships, networking, and first-job access are your top priorities. The biggest reason is location: Santa Clara sits in Silicon Valley, and that creates unusually direct access to internships during the school year, alumni in tech and finance-related business roles, and employers that regularly hire students for marketing, accounting, analytics, and operations work. For an undergrad trying to build experience before senior year, that proximity matters a lot.

The Leavey School of Business is also one of Santa Clara’s clearest strengths within the university. Business is a central academic draw there, not just one strong option among many, so the school tends to put substantial attention into undergraduate career preparation, employer connections, and practical coursework. Santa Clara’s alumni network is particularly useful in the Bay Area, where the school has longstanding recognition with companies ranging from startups to large established firms.

Tulane is a very good option, but its business advantage is a bit different. Freeman has a solid reputation and New Orleans offers a distinctive setting, especially for entrepreneurship, hospitality-related business, and students who want a more nationally dispersed college network. Tulane also has strong school spirit and a broader traditional campus feel that some students prefer over Santa Clara’s more professionally oriented atmosphere.

For pure undergrad business traction, though, Santa Clara is harder to beat because it combines a respected business school with one of the best internship markets in the country right outside campus. That tends to translate into more convenient in-semester experience, stronger regional employer familiarity, and a smoother path from classroom to first job.
