Virginia Tech has especially deep employer pipelines in engineering, computer science, and applied technical fields, with a very large alumni network and consistent recruiting from major companies and government-related employers. If you want pure financial payoff right after a bachelor’s degree, Virginia Tech is often the safer bet because lower debt improves return even when outcomes are similarly strong.

The key question is not which school is better in the abstract, but how far apart the actual prices are. If Virginia Tech is substantially cheaper, it is very likely the better investment. If Case Western gave you enough aid that the gap is small, then Case can be a smart buy, especially for biomedical, research-intensive, or healthcare-connected interests.
