Is Villanova or Bucknell more fun for undergrads?

The biggest practical tradeoff is suburban access versus campus-contained social life. Villanova gives you a classic residential campus with easy access to Philly, so weekends can include campus events, bars and restaurants nearby, sports, and trips into the city. Bucknell is more self-contained in Lewisburg, which means undergrad social life tends to revolve more heavily around campus traditions, Greek life, and the same student-centered weekend scene.

Day to day, Villanova often feels a little more flexible. There is plenty of school spirit, especially around basketball, and students can mix dorm hangs, club events, Main Line spots, and city outings without feeling stuck on campus. That tends to create more variety, even for students who are not big partiers.

Bucknell can feel more immersive socially because so much of the student body is spending free time in the same place. That can make it easier to know where the action is on weekends, and the social scene is often described as more concentrated. At the same time, some students love that tight campus energy, while others start to feel the limits of a small-town setting if they want more off-campus options.

For parties specifically, Villanova is social too, but the weekend experience is usually a bit broader and less centered on one type of nightlife. If "fun" means lots of different ways to spend your time, Villanova has the edge. If "fun" means an all-in, close-knit campus scene where most people are doing the same few social things together, Bucknell may feel livelier.
