How do University of Washington and USC compare in admissions difficulty?

USC is harder to get into overall than the University of Washington. USC is a highly selective private university that reviews applicants from a national and international pool, while UW admits a much larger class and, as a public flagship, has a different admissions dynamic shaped in part by Washington state residency. For a realistic college list, most students should treat USC as the more difficult admit.

One major difference is the applicant pool and institutional mission.
