Is William & Mary or Wake Forest more fun for undergrads?

A lot of the social life there comes from close friend groups, clubs, traditions, themed events, and the fact that Colonial Williamsburg is right there, rather than a big rah-rah campus vibe. Students who like a smart, slightly nerdier environment where people still go out but the energy is less centered on spectacle often click with W&M.

If your version of fun means people are visibly out and about on weekends, athletics matter, and you want a campus where social life is easy to tap into, Wake Forest probably matches that better. If your version of fun is more about interesting people, a strong sense of community, and a social scene that feels less preppy and more idiosyncratic, William & Mary may be more appealing.

One other factor is setting. Wake’s campus is more self-contained, so student life often concentrates on campus itself. William & Mary is woven into a historic town, which gives it charm and good atmosphere, but can make the social scene feel less centralized.
