Which is better for internships: Drexel or Stevens?

The biggest practical tradeoff is structure versus location advantage. Drexel has the more built-in internship culture because its co-op system is a core part of the undergraduate experience, while Stevens benefits from being right next to New York City, which creates strong access to internships during the school year and summer. If you want career experience to be formally embedded into college, Drexel usually has the clearer edge.

Drexel is especially well known for making work experience part of the academic path, not just an optional extra. Its co-op model is larger, more established, and designed so that many students graduate with substantial full-time work experience already on their resume.

Stevens is also very career-focused, and its Hoboken location is a real strength. Being so close to Manhattan can make it easier to pursue internships with finance, tech, engineering, and startup employers during the semester, especially for students who want flexibility rather than a long formal co-op block. Stevens students can absolutely build strong resumes, but the internship experience often depends a bit more on how proactively you use the location and recruiting opportunities.

In terms of overall internship culture and institutional support, Drexel feels more comprehensive and intentional. Stevens offers excellent access, especially for students targeting New York area employers, but Drexel is the school where internship experience is more deeply woven into how undergraduates actually progress through college.

So for internships alone, I would give the advantage to Drexel. Stevens becomes more compelling if you specifically want New York proximity and prefer a less rigid work-study structure, but Drexel is the stronger pick for consistent, built-in career experience during college.
