Pitt vs University of South Carolina for campus life: which feels more social and fun?

The biggest practical tradeoff is this: South Carolina gives you a more traditional, centralized campus social scene, while Pitt gives you a more city-based social life where campus and Pittsburgh blend together. At South Carolina, a lot of weekend energy stays tied to campus, Greek life, SEC sports, and school traditions. At Pitt, students still have plenty to do, but the fun often comes from neighborhoods, restaurants, concerts, and off-campus hangouts as much as from the university itself.

If your question is which feels more obviously social and lively in the classic college sense, South Carolina usually has the edge. The campus is more self-contained, tailgates and football weekends are a big part of student culture, and it tends to be easier to plug into a visible campus-wide social scene early on.
