University of Washington vs UC Davis for engineering: which is better overall?

University of Washington has the stronger overall engineering reputation. Its College of Engineering is more nationally prominent across multiple disciplines, and Seattle gives UW a particularly strong connection to major tech and engineering employers. For a student who is still undecided within engineering, UW also stands out because of the breadth and visibility of its engineering ecosystem.

One important differentiator is employer access. UW benefits from being in Seattle, where students are close to a dense network of companies in software, aerospace, biotech, and hardware.
