It has the classic large public university setup: lots of clubs, major sports energy, residence hall activity, and a student body that tends to participate in campus life in a very obvious way. At a place like ASU, it is usually less work to stumble into plans, meet people through friends of friends, and find groups that want to go out together.

Northeastern is social too, but it often takes more initiative. Students are active and busy, and many genuinely do like going out, exploring restaurants, events, and neighborhoods in Boston, but the experience can feel less automatic because co-op and internship schedules pull people in different directions. The benefit is that the social life can feel more mature and tied to the city, but it may not deliver that constant “everyone is around and doing something on campus” atmosphere.
