Which is better for scholarships, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign or Wake Forest?

The biggest practical tradeoff is that UIUC is a large public university where merit money exists but is often more limited and uneven, especially for out-of-state students, while Wake Forest is a private university that is known for meeting more demonstrated financial need but is also very selective with merit scholarships. So if you mean merit scholarships specifically, neither school is a place to count on big automatic awards, but Wake can sometimes produce a stronger overall need-based package.
