BU’s College of Communication is a dedicated school with established tracks in journalism, public relations, advertising, film and television, and media studies, so the path is clearer from day one. Vanderbilt can absolutely work for communication-related interests, but it is not as centered on communications as a standalone undergraduate professional program in the way BU is.

BU tends to fit the student who wants hands-on industry preparation early. Being in Boston helps with internships during the school year, and COM is built around fields like journalism and PR rather than asking you to piece together that interest through adjacent departments.
