One key difference is the program structure itself. UC Irvine has a dedicated undergraduate nursing pathway through the Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing, with training tied closely to UCI Health and the broader Southern California healthcare network. That usually translates into a more traditional and clearly built-out nursing identity on campus, rather than nursing being one option among many health-related pathways.

Clinical preparation is another major separator. UC Irvine benefits from being in Orange County, where students can access large hospital systems and diverse clinical settings in a dense healthcare region.
