That can be excellent for pre-med students seeking hospital volunteering, shadowing, research, and exposure to many patient populations. If your main priority is access to an elite medical center network and the pace of New York healthcare, NYU becomes more compelling.

For advising, neither school makes pre-med easy just because you enroll there, but Northeastern’s structure tends to help students build a clearer narrative through work experience. NYU can offer outstanding opportunities too, but students often need to be more self-directed in piecing them together across a very large university and city.

If you want the most practical undergraduate setup across several possible healthcare paths, Northeastern is the more useful pick. If you are especially drawn to pre-med in a major urban academic medical environment, NYU deserves a closer look.
