USC has a long-standing reputation for alumni loyalty. Students often describe the Trojan network as something people actively use, not just something listed on paper. That can matter if you want warm outreach, easier informational interviews, or alumni who are especially responsive to fellow students.

UCLA is hardly weak here. Its alumni base is massive, its location in Los Angeles is a major advantage, and its brand carries weight nationally and internationally. For networking overall, UCLA can be excellent, especially for students who are proactive and comfortable navigating a larger, less intimate system. You may have access to more people in absolute terms, but sometimes with less of the built-in school-loyalty culture USC is known for.

A lot also depends on field. For entertainment and certain LA relationship-driven industries, USC often has the edge in practical networking feel. For fields where broad institutional prestige, large recruiting ecosystems, and diverse alumni reach matter, UCLA can be just as powerful.

If the question is strictly which school tends to feel stronger for networking and making professional connections, USC usually gets the nod. UCLA still offers outstanding opportunities, but USC more often stands out for the responsiveness and closeness of its professional network.
