MIT vs BU for engineering: which is better for undergrad engineering opportunities?
I’m trying to understand how MIT and BU compare for an engineering major in terms of academics, internships, and overall opportunities. I know they’re very different schools, but I’m mainly trying to figure out what kind of undergraduate experience each one gives a student who wants to study engineering seriously.

For undergraduate engineering opportunities, MIT offers a much deeper and more engineering-centered experience. For internships, both benefit from being in Boston, but MIT has the stronger built-in pull with engineering employers, research labs, and tech startups. Its name recognition in engineering is exceptionally powerful, and the alumni and recruiting network in technical fields is hard to beat. BU students can absolutely land excellent internships too, especially by using the city well.
