UT Austin’s Cockrell School of Engineering is widely known nationally, and that matters when a recruiter or admissions committee is making quick judgments based on school name alone. So if the question is strictly overall prestige with employers and grad schools across engineering as a whole, UT Austin comes out ahead. If you are looking at a niche where Boulder is especially prominent, the gap can shrink a lot, and in some cases Boulder may be just as compelling.
