Which is better for internship opportunities: William & Mary or Penn State?

Penn State’s edge is breadth. Its alumni network can translate into more openings, more on-campus recruiting, and more industry variety, especially in business, engineering, technology, communications, and large corporate settings. Even though State College is not a major city, Penn State’s employer reach extends well beyond campus, and many companies actively recruit there because of the school’s scale and name recognition.

If the question is pure internship advantage for the average undergrad across many fields, Penn State has the stronger overall platform. If you already know you want a path connected to D.C.-adjacent work, public service, or a smaller, more relationship-driven environment, William & Mary can be just as effective and in some cases better targeted.
