Its computer science program is more central to the university’s identity, the local tech ecosystem around Dallas creates a steadier flow of internships during the school year, and the school has a particularly visible pipeline into industry roles in software, data, and adjacent tech fields.

The biggest differentiator is location. UT Dallas sits in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, which makes it easier to find internships not just for the summer but also part time during the semester. That matters a lot in CS, because repeated experience often helps more than prestige alone when it comes to landing the first full-time job.

The second advantage is program focus. At UT Dallas, computing and engineering have a very prominent presence on campus, and the school is especially known for producing students headed into technical careers.
