The campus is in Richardson, in the Dallas area, so there is plenty to do off campus, but the social energy is more dispersed. Students often build their experience through clubs, friend groups, gaming, cultural organizations, research labs, and trips into Dallas rather than through one big campus-wide weekend scene.

If your idea of fun is a more balanced, less intense environment where you can find your group without constant social pressure, UT Dallas can be a really comfortable place. The biggest difference is that UCSB’s social life is built into the setting, while at UT Dallas you often create it more intentionally.
