Harvard’s location tends to offer the more convenient day-to-day setup for student life and internships because Cambridge is dense, walkable, and tightly connected to Boston, while UCLA gives you access to the scale and industries of Los Angeles but with more transportation friction. At Harvard, students can move easily between campus, Harvard Square, and downtown Boston by foot and public transit. At UCLA, Westwood is lively and attractive, but LA is much more spread out, so getting to internships or events often takes more planning.

For everyday living, Cambridge usually feels easier to navigate. Harvard’s campus blends directly into Harvard Square, so coffee shops, bookstores, restaurants, grocery options, and subway access are right there. That creates a college-town-meets-city feel where a lot of social life happens close to campus.
