Its location in Cleveland’s University Circle puts it near hospitals, research centers, and technical employers, which can be especially useful for internships, co-ops, and applied research. If you like the idea of professors and labs being central to campus life, Case often feels more directly built for that.

Notre Dame makes more sense for students who want engineering within a very cohesive, traditional college experience. The residential hall system is a major part of student life, and alumni loyalty is a real strength. On reputation, both schools are credible names, but they are known somewhat differently. If you are deciding purely on engineering identity and day-to-day academic culture, I would lean Case Western. If you want engineering plus one of the most distinctive residential and alumni-driven college experiences in the country, Notre Dame has a very compelling case.
