GWU usually feels more socially active for undergrads day to day, mainly because more students are living in a dense, walkable part of D.C. with campus life blending into the city. Drexel absolutely has things to do, but its co-op structure changes the rhythm of student life and can make the social scene feel less constant. At GW, it is often easier to meet people through residence halls, student organizations, campus events, and spontaneous plans off campus because so much is concentrated around Foggy Bottom.

One big difference is how the academic calendar shapes friendships. Drexel’s co-op system is a major strength professionally, but it means students rotate in and out of classes and even campus life at different times. That can make social circles feel a little more fragmented, since friends may be on co-op while you are in class, or vice versa.
